A number of Nordic, and especially Norwegian films, series and documentaries gathered significant recognition on the global stage.

By the end of the year we list Nordic titles that got recognition in 2024. Among big Nordic film festival successes were the Swedish Crossing, the Danish The Girl with the Needle, and the Icelandic When The Light Breaks. The Finnish animated feature Niko - Beyond the Northern Lights, which premiered at the Giffoni Film Festival, is now sold to over 100 countries.

From Norway, a number of titles could be highlighted, such as the drama series Dates in Real Life, the film Sex, the children’s film Lars is LOL, and documentaries like A New Kind of Wilderness or The Remarkable Life of Ibelin. The Palestinian/Norwegian co-produced documentary No Other Land received over 30 awards, and has already gotten The Unforgettables at the Cinema Eye Honors Awards for 2025.
