SF Studios’ Swedish crime series based on the best-selling books by Viveca Sten is sold internationally by Viaplay Content Distribution, attending this week’s MIPTV in Cannes.

The six-part series is currently filming in the Swedish scenic village of Åre whose dramatic setting forms a quintessential part of the narrative, as underscored by up-and-coming actress Sehn (Anxious People, Locals) who plays the title role as police officer Hanna Ahlander. "It is unique to film in such a spectacular place as Åre, where nature becomes a decisive element in the story. I think it does something to me as an actor. It is fantastic to portray Hanna, a character who already has a large fan base worldwide that longs for the series.”

The story co-written by Karin Gidfors (The Lawyer) and Jimmy Lindgren (Honour) centres on Hanna Ahlander, as she hopes to rebuild her life and career in Åre after being suspended from her job at Stockholm’s city police forces and dumped by her partner.

At the beautiful ski resort, she is soon asked to investigate the disappearance of a young woman on St. Lucia’s Day, with the help of the police officer Daniel Lindskog (Karlo Razzazi from Honour, The Head).

Sharing the directing duties are Joakim Eliasson (Honour, Gåsmamman) and Alain Darborg (Red Dot).

The stellar Scandi cast also comprises Charlie Gustafsson, Francisco Sobrado, Pia Johansson, Cecilia von der Esch, Moa Gammel, Siham Shurafa, Olle Sarri, Jens Hultén, Jon Øigarden, Agnes Kittelsen and Amalia Holm Bjelke as well as the singer Maxida Märak cast as a coroner.

The series is produced by SF Studios’ Brita Lundqvist in co-production with Viaplay and support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Susann Billberg is serving as executive producer, alongside author Viveca Sten and Viaplay’s Helena Larand.
