Successful Swedish producers Lena Rehnberg (pictured - Waltz for Monica) and Annica Bellander Rune (A Man Called Ove) are in Cannes for the first time looking for films to acquire for their new distribution arm. 

Rehnberg who set up Stella Nova Film in 2009 told nordicfilmandtvnews.com: “It was a natural move for Annica and I as we both have a background in marketing [Rehnberg worked previously as Head of Distribution at Sandrew Metronome and Bellander Rune as Head of Marketing for Nordisk Film]. We are looking primarily at Swedish commercial-oriented films but might extend our slate to the rest of the Nordic region.” 

Stella Nova’s next in-house production, the relationship comedy Jag älskar dig-en skilsmässokomedi (lit: ‘I Love You-a divorce comedy’) by Johan Brisinger (Suddenly) will be released by Nordisk Film in the fall 2016. The company has several films and TV projects in development, both in Sweden and in the US.
