Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Göteborg Film Festival invite Nordic broadcasters/streamers to submit series to the Nordic Series Script Award and the Creative Courage Award.

The Nordic Series Script Award recognises outstanding screenwriting in Nordic drama. Presented annually at Göteborg’s TV Drama Vision, it carries forward the legacy of its predecessor, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. This prestigious award of NOK 200,000 is financed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and given to the main writer(s) of a Nordic drama series that premiered during the previous year.

The Creative Courage Award, introduced in 2025, honours the producer(s) and the commissioner(s) of a series that exemplifies bold, innovative, and risk-taking approaches in Nordic drama series. This honorary award celebrates individuals and companies which embrace brave producing and commissioning, thus pioneering new directions in storytelling.

The winners of the Nordic Series Awards are selected from series submitted by Nordic streamers/ broadcasters.

Eligibility criteria

  • The series must be primarily Nordic. The main production companies need to be based in and have their address in the Nordic region: Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, or Åland
  • Only the first seasons of a series will be considered
  • The series must have its premiere between January 1 and December 31, 2025

Submission guidelines

  • Each broadcaster/streamer may submit up to two series for the Nordic Series Script Award
  • If a broadcaster/streamer also wishes to submit one of these series for the Creative Courage Award, they can do so by including a short motivation of what makes the commissioning brave and the production pioneering in the form
  • Individual production companies, creators, etc. are not eligible to submit series

Series nominated for the Nordic Series Script Award will be contacted in mid-December.

Please note that for nominated series we will require the full series script in English by early January 2026. Scripts are not required for the Creative Courage Award.
