In the new movies, Peter Haber reprises his role as the iconic detective Martin Beck created by Majj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö, and his sidekick Steinar Hovland, is played again by Games of Thrones’ Kristofer Hivju.

Familiar faces also include Måns Nathanaelson as Oskar, Anna Asp as Jenny, Elmira Arikan as Ayda, Jonas Karlsson as Klas Fredén, and Rebecka Hemse as Beck’s daughter. Both Haber and Ingvar Hirdwall who plays the neighbour, have appeared in 38 Beck movies over the last two decades.

In the new procedural series, Beck is tired of his quiet retirement, itching for a new challenge, and Steinar Hovland is taking on bigger responsibilities within the police squad. But the group is shaken by family problems, competition and jealousy while trying to solve new crimes.

Mårten Klingberg has written the series and directed the two first TV movies-Ditt egen blod (Your own blood) and Den tuna isen (The thin Ice), while Jörgen Bergmark is director for Utan uppsåt (Without Intent)and Djävulens advokat (The Devil's Advocate).

C More/TV4 Head of Drama Josefine Tengblad said: “The way Beck continues to deliver after 20 years is unrivalled. The series has broken several viewing records and our recent premieres have been major successes for C More and TV4. It is therefore a true pleasure to present four brand new films with our beloved characters – and maybe one or two surprises.”

The new Beck TV moviess are produced by Filmlance in collaboration with C More/TV4, Nordisk Film and Germany’s ZDF.

After the New Year’s Day launch of the first Beck movie, the remain three will premiere on C More on February 3rd, March 3rd and April 7, 2018
