Jarowskij’s TV drama about the dark secrets of an elite boarding school stars Aliette Opheim, Henrik Schyffert and Valter Skarsgård.

The show is premiering on Viaplay this Sunday, August 22.

The eight-part series A Class Apart (Zebrarummet) is based on an idea by seasoned actor/writer/director Henrik Schyffert (Black Lake) and Gustav Skörderman. The latter has co-written the screenplay with Michaela Hamilton (Eagles) and Erik Eger, in association with Gustaf Skördeman, Anna Platt and Fredrik Agetoft. Andrea Östlund (The Restaurant), Erik Eger and David Berron are directing.

The story inspired by true events, is set in Tuna Kvarn, a Sweden’s top boarding high school where super rich kids run the Zebra Club secret society, involved in humiliating initiation rites. When a student is found dead, a youngster at a nearby state school is falsely accused. The school’s passionate counsellor reacts on social media, criticising the boarding school, setting in motion unexpected events.

Rounding off the cast are Alva Bratt, Amanda Lindh, Maxwell Vaz and Edvin Endre.

The series produced by Heidi Rydbeck for Jarowskij, was executive produced by Nent Group’s Jon Petersson. Brommamamma and Film I Väst are co-producing.

Banijay Rights is handling global distribution to the Jarowskij production, Swedish label part of Banijay Nordic.
