After having converted the jury of the Nordic Council Film Prize 2009 and the Danish Film Academy that gave it seven Robert awards, Lars von Trier's Antichrist triumphed at last Sunday's Bodil awards with five awards - Best Danish Film, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Cinematographer and Best Sound Design. Other major winners were Ole Bornedal's Deliver Us from Evil (Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress) and Anders Riis-Hansen's Blekingegade banden (Best Documentary), two films supported by the Fund.
The same evening in Rouen, three other films backed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond won in all major categories. Norway's Upperdog scooped the festival's Grand Jury Prize, Finland's Letters to Father Father won Best Actor, Best Actress and the Audience Award and Denmark's Applaus the Second Souffle award.
Iceland's White Night Wedding won Young European Jury.
Sara Johnsen's Upperdog was also the biggest winner at the recent Cannon awards given out by the Norwegian film industry during the Trondheim Film Festival. The film produced by Friland Film nabbed Best Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Cinematography. Other winning films backed by the Fund were Rune Denstad Langlo's North, Best Producers (Sigve Endresen and Brede Hovland), Best Actor and Best Sound Design, and Margreth Olin' s The Angel, awarded Best Newcomer and Best Actress.
