The Swedish youth film written by So Damn Easy Going’s Jessika Jankert is due to start shooting in June in Eddvalla, Western Sweden.
Forever is the sophomore feature of Anders Hazelius, who has been working mostly in TV drama in recent years, as concept director of Viaplay’s Thunder in my Heart and episodic director of SVT’s Thin Blue Line.
The film centres on teenagers and best friends Mila and Kia who share a passion for football. When the girls get a new demanding football coach Lollo, and Mila sees her chance to go pro - the girls slowly start to drift apart.
Making their screen debuts are Flutra Cela as Mila and Judith Sigfridsson as Kia. Agnes Lindström Bolmgren (The Cake General) plays the coach Lollo.
“For seven years I have wanted to make this film,” said Hazelius who describes Forever as a “declaration of love to be a 14-year-old with big dreams.”
The film is produced by Stefan H. Lindén and Erik Lundqvist for SF Studios, in co-production with Film i Väst, support from The Swedish Film Institute and Lindholmen Science Park.
The domestic release is set for spring 2023.
