Filming of Selma Vilhunen’s feature produced by Tuffi Films has just wrapped. The premiere in Finland handled by Aurora Studios is slated for 2023.

After her acclaimed Little Wing - the 2017 Nordic Council Film Prize winner - and Stupid Young Heart (Crystal Bear 2019 - Berlinale Generation 14plus), Vilhunen’s new film Four Little Adults based on her original script, is a contemporary look at the various forms of love.

When Juulia discovers that her husband Matias is having an affair with Enni another woman, she decides to embrace the opportunity of polyamory without secrets.

The stellar Finnish cast includes Alma Pöysti (Tove), Eero Milonoff (Border), Oona Airola (The Happiest Day in the Life of Ollo Mäki) and Pietu Wikström (Girl Picture).

"At the heart of our story is human frailty and helplessness in the face of life, no matter how hard one tries to strive towards security and good, right decisions,” said the director. “With this group of actors I dared to dive into the complex emotions of the scenes, surrender to them, and take risks together. All four leading actors are incredibly skilled and interesting artists whose wisdom and professionalism I admire.”

The film is produced by Venla Hellstedt and Elli Toivoniemi of Tuffi Films, in co-production with Nima Yousefi of Hobab, Sweden, and Birgit Kemner of Manny Films, France, with co-financing from SVT, Aurora Studios, support from the Finnish Film Foundation, the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
