NENT Group’s psycho thriller created by Adi Hasak has started filming for production partners Nice Drama in Sweden and Night Train Media in Germany.
Emmy-award winning Anna Friel (Marcella) leads the international cast in the role of Sharon Pici, a Kansas City police officer, who becomes fixated on an investigation that soon escalates into a supernatural nightmare. Alexander Karim (Tyrant, The Lawyer) plays her partner Loveall and Peter Stormare (Fargo) police station manager Jed.
The seven-part English-language series created and written by Adi Hasak (Shades of Blue, Eyewitness), is entirely directed by Steve Shill (Dexter, The Wire).
Filming takes place entirely in the same Stockholm indoor location, where a complete US police station has been built by production designer Betsy Ångerman-Engström for production outfit Nice Drama.
“We are very proud to be able to carry out a large international production in Stockholm, with world stars such as Anna Friel and Peter Stormare, said Filippa Wallestam, EVP & Chief Content Officer at NENT Group. “It has been an intensive work to get everything in place, not least to build an authentic American police station. It’s great that we’ve finally got started."
“It is an honour and a privilege to once again, after a year of lockdown, be able to do what I love most,” added Anna Friel, who is pleased to be filming in Stockholm, one of the places she’s been wanted to visit for a long time.
The series is co-produced by German production powerhouse Night Train Media, set up by media mogul Herbert Kloiber, who serves as executive producer, alongside the company’s head of development and co-production Olivia Pahl, together with creator Adi Hasak and Nent Group’s VP International Scripted Content Fredrik Ljungberg.
Night Train Media has international distribution rights.
The series will premiere exclusively on Nent Group’s streamer Viaplay in the Nordics and in the Baltics later this year.
Other English-language TV shows set to premiere on Viaplay include Dublin-set Kin starring Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne and Aidan Gillen, as well as Amanda Reynolds’ book to screen adaptation Close to Me, starring Connie Nielsen and Christopher Eccleston.
