Salmenperä’s film tells of a struggling writer (Tommi Korpela) and his wife (Laura Birn), an actress on the verge of an international breakthrough. Neither of them is willing to sacrifice their careers even though their relationship is doing worse than ever. Produced outside the tradition funding system, Salmenperä and editor Samu Heikkilä received the new Nordisk Film Award given out to filmmakers who “through his exceptional artistic contribution have raised the level of Finnish film over the past year.” Void also picked up Jussi's for Best Sound (Tuomas Klaavo) and Best Editing (Samu Heikkilä).

The biopic The Ragged Life of Juice Leskinen by Teppo Airaksinen won three statuettes for Best Cinematography (Aarne Tapola), Best Costume (Susse Roos) and Best Make-Up (Riikka Virtanen).

Meanwhile Virpi Suutari’s Entrepreneur produced by October Oy picked up two Jussis for Best Documentary and Best Music (Sanna Salmenkallio).

  • Best Actress Oona Airola for Markku Pölönen’s period drama Land of Hope 
  • Best Actor, Hannu-Pekka Björkman for Juha Lehtola’s The Human Part 
  • Best Supporting Actress, Satu Tuuli Karhu for last year’s top grossing Finnish film Happier Times, Grump by Tiina Lymi 
  • Best Supporting Actor Paavo Kinnunen for Heikki Kujanpää’s Laugh or Die 
  • Best Short Film Star Shaped Scar by Vuokko Kunttu and Virva Kunttu.

The Lifetime achievement Betoni-Jussi was handed out to actor Hannele Lauri for her outstanding career in film, TV, especially in comedy roles, while the audience award organised by streamer Elisa Viihde went to My Brother’s Keeper by J-P Siili.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond is associated to two Jussi awards for Stupid Young Heart and The Human Part
