The new outfit A&M Productions will focus on non-scripted lifestyle, culture and kids programmes.
Adam Price, the creator/co-writer of Ride Upon the Storm and established Danish TV personality, is behind this new initiative, with seasoned producer Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen. Their new venture is set to complement their current involvement in scripted content, through Copenhagen-based SAM Productions, set up in 2014 with writer Søren Sveistrup and Studiocanal.
Price said in a statement: “As programme host on DR1 for more than 10 years with several hundred programmes under my belt, it was obvious for me to focus not only on fiction, television series, films and documentaries, but also to move into the production of TV programmes, now that we both have the experience and the muscle to do this.”
Foldager Sørensen said A&M Productions will focus on “original Danish lifestyle, culture and children’s programmes-entertainment TV with something at heart. We won’t buy formats and won’t either rely on a major group. We will produce home-grown programmes in collaboration with strong personalities, many of whom already work in-house [at SAM Productions], but we will of course also be open to new collaborations,” she commented.
Mette Støvring, former producer at United TV and Nordisk Film TV, has been appointed as A&M Productions’ director of programmes. Among the various shows that she has produced are TV2’s Voice Junior and DR’s The Big Christmas Show. Price said A&M has already several projects in the pipeline.
Meanwhile on the scripted side, Price is in post-production with his Norwegian series Ragnarok produced by SAM Productions for Netflix. The six-part coming of age drama will premiere in 2020.
