Iceland's award-winning The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela by Olaf de Fleur has been sold to here! Films in the US. Regent Releasing (sister company to here!) will release it in selected cities this fall, starting with New York and Los Angeles on September 26.
The deal was brokered by Mark Reinhart, West Coast General Manager & Executive VP Distribution and Acquisitions for Regent, and Nate Bolotin from XYZ Films and Stefan Schaefer from Cicala Filmworks on behalf of Olaf de Fleur.
"We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative, emerging talent like Olaf de Fleur," said Reinhart. "'Queen Raquela' is refreshing and inspirational in both content and form and we are excited to bring this festival favorite to a broad U.S. audience this fall."
The film has won multiple awards including the Teddy Award for Best Feature at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival, and is proving a festival hit with over 25 invitations from all over the world.
Queen Raquela will open in Iceland on October 17.
