A stellar cast of Nordic talents led by Ulrich Thomsen and Trine Dyrholm has joined Thomas Vinterberg’s The Commune, currently shooting on location in Denmark.

Other cast members include Helene Reingaard Neumann, Fares Fares and Lars Ranthe. Behind the camera are Vinterberg ‘s collaborators from The Hunt, co-writer Tobias Lindholm, producers Morten Kaufmann (Toolbox Film) and Sisse Graum Jørgensen (Zentropa), editors Anne Østerud and Janus Billeskov Jansen, and cinematographer Jesper Tøffner.  The Commune is loosely based on Vinterberg’s own experience of growing up in a community outside of Copenhagen. Here the director focuses on group dynamics as he tells a story about the clash between personal desires vs. solidarity and tolerance in a commune in the 70’s.

The film supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond was pre-sold to France’s Le Pacte during the American Film Market. TrustNordisk secured the deal. Delivery is set for the second half of 2015.
