Niels Arden Oplev’s new Danish coming of age film Race Walking (pictured - Kapgang) will be on TrustNordisk’s pre-sales line up at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (September 5-16). After his Hollywood stint, this will be the director of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s first Danish film in four years.

Set in the mid-1970s, the story focuses on the 14 year-old Martin (Villads Bøye) who learns how to survive the teen years and his mother’s sudden death. It is based on Morten Kirskov’s acclaimed debut novel, adapted for the screen by Bo H. Hansen (The Art of Crying). The cast includes Anders W. Berthelsen and Borgen’s star Sidse Babett Knudsen (pictured) as a curly blond. Race Walking (working title) was produced by Thomas Heinesen for Nordisk Film Production, with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
The Danish premiere is set for 2014.
