Ulrik Imtiaz Rolfsen's new film The Last Joint Venture (Den siste revejakta) produced by Maipo AS has been selected to open the 36th Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund, on August 17.
The comedy drama stars Nicolai Cleve Broch and Kristoffer Joner (photo) as two friends trying to hang on to their dreams and dope-smoking habits in the late 70s. The script is based on Ingvar Ambjørnsen's cult novel.
"With The Last Joint Venture, Ulrik Imtiaz Rolfsen will be in the Norwegian Film Festival's main programme for the first time. We are very happy to be able to open the film festival with his third feature film," said Festival director Gunnar Johan Løvvik.
The Last joint Venture will be released in Norway by Nordisk Film on August 29.
The Norwegian Film Festival will start on August 16 with the Amanda Awards ceremony and will then unfold between August 17 and 21, 2008. The market New Nordic Films will take place between August 21-23 and the Nordic Co-production Forum - set to focus this year on co-production between Germany, Italy and the Nordic countries on August 21 and 22.
