Following up on its Millennium trilogy films, sold to Columbia Pictures for a US adaptation (ready for delivery at the end of 2011), the Swedish production house Yellow Bird has just inked a deal with Summit Entertainment on Jo Nesbø's novel Headhunters for a US remake in the English language. Marianne Gray and Berna Levin at Yellow Bird will produce on behalf of Summit Entertainment."For us, the deal with Summit means that we get the chance to work together with a strong partner who shares our vision and passion for Nesbø's amazing story, while we at the same time continue to establish ourselves as producers in Hollywood where we can make sure that our films reach as big an audience as possible," said Berna Levin, Head of Development at Yellow Bird. Morten Tyldum's Headhunters was produced by Yellow Bird together with Friland and Nordisk film, with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The thriller has sold around half a million tickets in Norway and more than 100,000 in Denmark so far. It was sold to around 40 territories by TrustNordisk, with China being one of the latest buyers (HGC Entertainment).
