The Danish Sidse Babett Knudsen (photo) won a Golden Nymph-Outstanding Actress in a Drama TV series for her performance in DR's Borgen (The Government) at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival that ended last Friday. Borgen previously won a Prix Italia and two Fipa Awards in France. Interest for the series about a woman's struggle for political power has been tremendous from world broadcasters. After airing across the Nordic region, French and German audiences will watch it on ARTE and the US TV station Link TV will broadcast it to over 33 million American homes in its original Danish version. Borgen will continue on DR1 in the autumn and a Season three is in the works at DR.
