SVT’s thriller series produced by Strix Drama shared a Special Mention with Belgian soccer series Strikers at the French TV festival Series Mania that closed on Sunday in Paris.
The ten- part Swedish series introduced in Paris by creators Zoula Pitsiava, Mia Sohlman and writer Alex Haridi raised heated debates in the French capital because of its timely subject matter about right wing politics gaining ground across civil society. ZDF Enterprises is represented it internationally.
Series Mania’s top International TV series award went to the German spy series Deutschland 83, while HBO’s mini-series Olive Kitteridge shared the Audience Award with Israel’s False Flag from Homeland producer Keshet.
The 6th Series Mania had a record number of visitors (22,100) up 19% from previous years. The most popular series that premiered in Paris include Norway’s upcoming series Occupied, the US crime show Wayward Pines, Australia’s, The Principal and French Le Bureau des Légendes.
