The Swedish/French thriller Midnight Sun created and directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein shared with the Belgian show Beau Séjour the Audience Award at Paris’ Series Mania TV drama Festival that closed on Sunday.

The Kiruna-set series starring Leila Bekhti (pictured) and Gustaf Hammarsten will air later this fall on Swedish public broadcaster SVT and French premium pay TV Canal+.

Midnight Sun was among eight international TV dramas selected for the festival’s first World Premieres competition programme.

The top Grand Prix award was given to the Argentinian series El Marginal and the Special Jury award to Australia’s The Kettering Incident.
