Jan Troell, Maria Heiskanen, Dome Karukoski, Nils Gaup, Gabriel Axel are among the top Nordic talents who will attend the 22nd Nordic Film Festival in Rouen, France (March 18-29) alongside Norwegian crime author Gunnar Staalesen.

Ten films are competing in the main programme, such as Flame & Citron, Terribly Happy, Home of Dark Butterflies, Country Wedding (ahead of its French release on June 9 through Memento Films), The Kautokeino Rebellion, Cold Lunch, Everlasting Moments, and Heaven's Heart.

Isabelle Duault who viewed around 200 films for the festival, said she found the same high production quality in Danish films (although some repetition in subject matters) and many promising new talents from Norway. Highlights of the festival include the premiere of the Varg Veum series, introduced by its creator Gunnar Staalesen, a tribute to ‘Finnish Valentino' Teuvo Tulio, and the presence of high profile French/Norwegian magistrate Eva Joly for the screening of the documentary Eva Joly, une justice malgré tout by Hege Dehli.
