The Swedish star actress Noomi Rapace (pictured) won the Marc Aurelio Jury Award for Best Actress at the 6th Rome International Film Festival last Friday evening. Rapace was awarded for her performance in the Norwegian film Babycall which had its international premiere in the Italian capital. The jury of the main competition programme included Ennio Morricone, Susanne Bier, Roberto Bolle, Carmen Chaplin, David Puttnam, Pierre Thoretton, and Debra Winger. Päl Sletaune's Babycall was produced by Turid Øversveen for 4½ Fiksjon, with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The film has sold over 75,000 tickets in Norway so far and it will open in over 18 worldwide territories. The latest deals with the UK (Soda Pictures), France (Jour2Fete) and Italy (Nomad Film) were signed at the American Film Market by German sales company The Match Factory. Another Norwegian film-Jannicke Systad Jacobsen's Turn Me On, Goddammit - won the Independent Distribution Award for Best Film in Rome.
