Icelandic writer/director Hlynur Pálmason, winner of a Special Mention at Nordic Talents 2013 for his project Winter Brothers (Vinterbrødre) has started filming the feature film produced by Danish outfit Masterplan Pictures. The film is produced by Julie Waltersdorph Hansen who graduated with the director from the National Film School of Denmark in 2013. Winter Brothers follows two brothers, their routines, habits, rituals and a violent feud that erupts between them and another family.
The cast includes Elliot Hove, Simon Sears, Peter Plauborg, Michael Bostrp, Victoria Carmen Sonne and Lars Mikkelsen. Iceland’s Join Motion Pictures is co-producing the feature that just received DKK 5 million in production support from the Danish Film Institute via New Danish Screen. The domestic release date is set for 2017.
