Only three years after grabbing the Nordic Talent Pitch Award in Copenhagen for his feature debut Bekas, Kurdish-born Swedish director Karzan Kader (pictured) has already received an offer to direct a movie in Hollywood. According to Swedish newspaper Dagens-Nyheter, Kader is preparing Dreamworks’ actioner Man of War about a Navy Seal who escapes terrorist captors and finds refuge in the Carpathian mountains. The script is written by Joseph Sousa and produced by Mark Sourian (The Kite Runner). Kader’s graduation film Bekas from Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts won him a Student Oscar and was made into a feature film of the same name.
