As part of Iceland's new governmental team in place since February 1st, Kolbrún Halldórsdóttir (photo) of the Left-Green Movement has been appointed Minister for Nordic Co-operation as well as Minister for the Environment. She will report to Iceland's new Social Democrat Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurdardóttir. Halldórsdóttir has been a member of the Icelandic delegation at Nordic Council since 2007, and a member of the Culture Committee since 2008. Iceland's new Minister of Education, Science and Culture is Katrin Jakobsdottir.
