The Swedish star actor Michael Persbrandt (photo) (co-star in Oscar winning In A Better World) is going to take on the role of the Nordic James Bond Carl Hamilton in the screen adaptation of Jan Guillou's trilogy books produced by Pampas Production. The film versions of In the Interest of the Nation, In her Majesty's Service and But Not of it Concerns Your Daughter will start filming this spring and the first film will have its theatrical release on January 13, 2012. Persbrandt has trained for half of year to play the popular Nordic  spy known in over 20 world territories. Other key cast members include Pernille August and Lennart Hjulström. Danish director Katrin Windfeld is attached to In the Interest of the Nation. Hans Gunnarsson (Evil) Stefan Thunberg (Wallander series), Stefan Jaworski have collaborated on the screen adaptation. Producer Johan Mardell (Pampas Production) said: "We will bring a fresh twist on the Scandinavian James Bond". The film is co-financed by TV4 Sweden (partner in the Knight Templar trilogy) and Buena Vista who will handle the theatrical and DVD release.
