Iceland's established film and TV director Ragnar Bragason (pictured - Children/Parents, The Shift series) will start filming in November his new feature project Metal Head for Mystery Island.
Based on Bragason's original script, the film is set in rural Iceland, in the early 1990s. It's the story of teenager Hera whose carefree life is changed forever when her older brother is killed in an accident. She finds solace in the dark music of Heavy Metal and dreams of becoming a rock star. Þorbjörg Helga Dýrfjörð plays Hera and Iceland's star actor Ingvar E. Sigurðsson (Jar City) her father. The film is co-produced by Norway by Hummel Film and received support from the Icelandic Film Centre and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
