The Norwegian author Merethe Lindstrøm (pictured) has won the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2012 for her novel Dager i stillhetens historie (‘Days in the History of Silence'). Born in Bergen in 1963, Lindstrøm was previously nominated for the Prize in 2008 for her collection of short stories "Gjestene". Her novel ‘Days in the History of Silence' also won the Norwegian Critics' Prize for Best Adult Literary Work. The Nordic Council Literature Prize is worth DKK 350,000. It is awarded annually by the Nordic Council with other major prizes to celebrate Film, Music, Nature and the Environment. The Nordic Council Film Prize is administered by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
