In a surprising move, the Scandinavian media giant Nordisk Film announced last Friday that it had decided to terminate its contract with Kim Magnusson, managing director of Nordisk Film Production, due to ‘plans of a new management structure' within its production department.
Magnusson joined Nordisk Film in 2003 from M&M Productions, which he founded in 1995 with his father Tivi Magnusson. At Nordisk Film, Magnusson supervised the production of films such as Worlds Apart, Karla's World and Terkel in Trouble.
His immediate leave from Nordisk Film Production also means that he has had to resign as Chairman of the Danish Film Producers Association, a position he held since 2001.
Nordisk Film has a new Managing Director in Allan Hansen since December 15, 2008.
