Swedish born sound designer Joakim Sundström (pictured) –long-time collaborator to Michael Winterbottom - was handed out at Saturday evening’s European Film Awards in Riga an EFA statuette for European Sound Designer for his work on David McKenzie’s drama Starred Up.
The top EFA award for Best Film (which had Force Majeure and Nymphomaniac Director’s Cut 1 and 2 as contenders) was given out to the Polish/Danish co-production Ida by Pawel Pawlikowski which also grabbed Best European Director /Best European Scriptwriter and the People’s Choice Award.
