The Finnish sci-fi spoof movie Iron Sky by Timo Vuorensola is starting principal photography this week in Frankfurt and initiating at the same time an internet ‘sneak preview' campaign to raise some more money. Fans interested to learn how the first few minutes of the film are made and to see the finished opening scene before the film's official theatrical release in 2012 are invited to pay a minimum of one euro on the web service ‘Iron Sky Sneak Peek (http://www.ironsky.net/sneakpeek/). So far, almost one million euro of the €6.8m budget has been raised via internet crowd funding. "Close collaboration with the audience on ideas, publicity and funding is the future of genre film," said producer Tero Kaukomaa (Blind Spot Pictures). Filming in Frankfurt will last until the new year and will continue in Australia. The production partners to Blind Spot are Energia (Finland), 27 Films (Germany), and New Holland Pictures (Australia). World sales are handled by Stealth Media Group.
