The directorial debut of Omar Shargawi Ma Salama Jamil (Go with Peace Jamil) is going to screen in the main competition programme of two top international film festivals: Rotterdam (January 23 - February 3) and Göteborg (January 25 - February 4).
The action drama co-scripted by Shargawi and Mogens Rukov is set in Copenhagen's Arabic community. It's a story about love, punishment, guilt and redemption. The project was developed as part of the DFI's New Danish Screen initiative.
Go with Peace Jamil was produced by Meta Louise Foldager for Zentropa Entertainment with co-financing from TV 1000, Film i Väst and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Nordisk Film will release it in Denmark next autumn and Trust Film Sales handles world sales.
