Last Friday Danish actress Sidse  Babett Knudsen (pictured) picked up the French Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actress. Two days later it was Alicia Vikander’s turn to bring Oscar glamour to her native Sweden. 

Sidse Babett Knudsen who speaks fluently French was awarded for her role in Christian Vincent’s film L’hermine. The director cast her after seeing her in DR’s hit series Borgen. Babett Knudsen will next appear in two films starring Tom Hanks: A Hologram for the King by German director Tom Tykver and the US thriller Inferno by Ron Howard. 

The hot Swedish star Alicia Vikander won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl. Last time a Swedish actress won the coveted statuette was in 1975 with Ingrid Bergman for Murder on the Orient Express

The 27-year old actress will next appear opposite some of today's leading actors: Michael Fassbender (The Light Between Oceans), Matt Damon (Jason Bourne), Christoph Waltz (Tulip Fever) and James McAvoy (Submergence).
