43 year-old Alice Bah Kuhnke (pictured) who had her own talk show on TV4 in the late 1990s, has just been appointed Minister of Culture and Democracy for the new Swedish government led by Social Democrat Prime Minister Stefan Löften. Bah Kuhnke had joined the Green Party three days before landing her ministerial job.
She was one of Sweden’s best female sprinter runners in the late 1980s before starting a career in television in 1992 with SVT's Disney Club. She then had her own TV4 talk show ‘Alice Bah’ from 1998 -1999. She eventually left television to study political science. Among the various key positions she held are general director of the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society and board member of the Royal Dramatic Theatre. Bah Kuhnke is married to actor and singer Johannes Kuhnke who has the title role in Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure.
