Finland's top documentary editor Tuula Mehtonen will be the first film editor to be handed out the Apollo Award at Docpoint, one of Scandinavia's key documentary film events (January 22-27, 2013). Mehtonen edited over one hundred film projects and is the founding mother of the Film Editing Studies at Helsinki's Aalto University. Over one hundred films will screen at Docpoint including twelve films selected for the New Finnish Documentary Film series. Those include Mika Ronkainen's Finnish Blood, Swedish Heart and Susanna Helke's Finnish/Danish film American Vagabond, both supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Over 20 international guests are expected in Helsinki including Lauren Greenfield, director of the US/Danish award-winning The Queen of Versailles, and Polish director/producer Jerzy Sladkowski who will give a master-class.
