The three children's films Pelle politibil, (photo), Knerten and Blånisser, as well as the horror/thriller Snarveien were awarded NOK28m in production support from the Norwegian Film Institute.

Pelle politibil går i vannet is the new adventures of the popular police car Pelle, created by Åge Magnussen, that thrilled Norwegian kids and international children's festivals in 2002. While the 2002 version was live action, this new film to be directed by Rasmus A. Sibertsen will be made in 3D animation. Aage Aaberge will produce the NOK15.7m project for Neofilm. Shooting will start on June 16. Nordisk Film will handle domestic distribution.

Julenatt i Blåfjell will be the second feature film by Peder Norlund (Wolf Summer) based on the popular Norwegian TV series about Blånisse Prinsesse Fjellrose. The NOK21m project will be produced by Jørgen Storm Rosenberg for his company Storm Rosenberg AS. Filming will start on February 2009. Sandrew Metronome will handle domestic release.

Knerten based on Anne-Cath Vestlys' literary classic, is the directorial debut of stand up comedian Åsleik Engmark. Paradox AS will produce the NOK17.6m film. Filming will start in September and Scanbox will release it on November 7, 2009.

Snarveien
is written and directed by first time filmmaker Severin Eskeland. The horror film with a NOK9.4m budget is produced by Exposed Film Production. The Super 16mm film will will start shooting on September 4, 2009. SF Norge will handle domestic distribution.
