Just after it grabbed the Silver Hugo for Second Best First Feature at the Chicago International Film Festival mid-October, the Icelandic Oscar entry Volcano by Rúnar Rúnarsson added the Golden Wolf for Best Film and the AQCC critics' award given out last weekend at Montreal‘s Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. The Icelandic/Danish co-production sold by TrustNordisk has travelled to nearly 20 international festivals since it premiered at Cannes‘ Directors‘ Fortnight last May. The film was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
