Last Saturday DR’s drama The Legacy (Arvingerne) directed by Pernilla August picked the Fipa d’or in Biarritz for Best TV series and Best Original Screenplay (Maya Ilsøe). The festival in South West France was the first international television event attended by the Danish TV drama currently airing on DR1. So far a dozen territories have acquired The Legacy and according to Helene Aurø, DR Sales Deputy Managing Director, other offers have been made since the beginning of the year, both for the original series and for remakes. The 10x58’ family saga was backed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
In 2011 DR’s political drama Borgen was also awarded two Fipas for Best TV series and Soundtrack.
