The Norwegian dramedy Dag produced by Kamerakameratene for TV2 Norge has received five nominations for this year's Gullruten awards (Norway's Emmy equivalent), ahead of Monster/NRK's The Half Brotherwith four nominations.
The two hit series are competing for Best Norwegian TV Drama against NRK's Hjem (Home) and TV2's Hotel Caesar. In the Best Male category Anders Baasmo Christiansen and partner Atle Antonsen in Dag, are both running against The Half Brother's Frank Kjosås and Jon Øigarden. Best Female category has Dag's Tuva Novotny and Iben Hjele competing against Mariann Hole (The Half Brother) and Lene Kongsvik Johansen (Kongsvik Videregående, Seefood/TV Norge).
Nordisk Film & TV Fond supported Dag Season 3, as well The Half Brother. Nordic World is selling Dag, Home and Hotel Caesar at this week's television market MIPTV in Cannes, while The Half Brother is handled by SF International. The Gullruten winners will be announced on May 11 at Bergen's Grieghallen.
