Swedish director Colin Nutley (pictured) is currently filming his first TV drama in 20 years: the crime series Saknad (Missing) written by Peter Lindblom (Höök, 30 Degrees in February). The series produced by Nutley’s Sweetwater Production in collaboration with Bob Film, is co-produced by C More and TV4 Sweden. The storyline centres on Maja Silver (Helena Bergström) who investigates the murder of a young girl in a small Swedish bible belt where her own daughter (Molly Nutley) resides. Other key cast include Samuel Fröler, Julia Dufvenius, and Johan Widerberg.
“This is the first time in a long time that I direct a TV drama and I’m really looking forward to telling a story at a different pace. With Saknad, I want to examine how violence affects a small community and its residents,” said the Academy-award nominated director.
The series will premiere on C More early 2017. The SVOD service is currently enjoy the successful run of the Beck crime series. Last Saturday a record 216,000 subscribers watched Steinar, the second of four films in which Norwegian star Kristofer Hivju makes his debut as commissioner Martin Beck’s new partner.
