DR's political drama Borgen received a BAFTA award for Best International TV series last Sunday evening at London's Royal Albert Hall, beating the Danish public broadcaster's other candidate The Killing, Season 2, the US sitcom Modern Family and Australian drama The Slap. "We owe a lot to The Killing," said Borgen creator Adam Price (pictured left with star Sidse Babett Knudsen) who also stressed that the crime thriller had paved the way for Danish TV drama on the international market. The first season of The Killing won in the same category last year, making it the second year in a row that DR grabs the prestigious award from the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards. Borgen was aired successfully on BBC Four in the UK. The series was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
