Christian Ryltenius’ family film Bamse and the City of Thieves has become the most successful animated Swedish film since 2000 with 260,000 tickets sold domestically for SF Film.
“Our goal with Bamse and the City of Thieves was to make an adventure movie in Rune Andréasson's spirit and we are very excited about the film’s positive reception. It really feels like both children and adults have appreciated it, said producer Jon Nohrstedt (Tre Vänner).
The film supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond will open in Norway in the spring and in Finland in the autumn. It will be available in Sweden on DVD later this year. TrustNordisk handles world sales.
