The 22 year-old Swedish actor Anastasios Soulis (photo) is the recipient of the 2009 L'Oreal Paris Rising Star Award, given out each year to up and coming Swedish acting talents as part of the Stockholm International Film Festival. The young actor had his feature film debut in 2000 in Ulf Malmros' Den bästa Sommaren (A Summer Tale). In 2006, he was nominated for a Best Actor - Guldbagge award for his part in Underbara Älskade (Suddenly). He is currently on Swedish screens in the two Swedish films Prinsessa (Starring Maja) and Bröllpsfotografen (The Wedding Photographer). He also played a gruesome youth leader in SVT's television drama De havt dolda (The Half Hidden). Soulis will be handed out his award at the Stockholm Film Festival on November 28. Last year's first recipient of the L'Oreal Paris Rising Star award was Malin Crépin.
