5 Lies (5 Løgner) released today in Norway by distributor Scanbox with 27 prints, is the first feature film directed by Lars Daniel Krutzkoff Jacobsen, famous in Norway for having introduced trash movies.
The NOK 15 million film was produced by Anders Tangen (Viafilm) with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Nordisk Film Studios and TV2 Norway.
"I knew the director because we are from the same city (Tronheim) and we did the same film school in Oslo. One day, he told me I have a feature film project! He gave me the script and the following day I said: OK! I approached the Norwegian Film Fund and five days later I had their approval. So the project was greelit in only one week."
"The film tells the story of five people who try to do something with their life", explains the producer. "It's not going so well but at the end, they are all honest about what they want". For director Krutzkoff Jacobsen, 5 Lies is about the process of reaching one's goal in life. "It's about hope", he says.
