Nordic Series Awards 2026

The Nordic Series Script Award recognises outstanding screenwriting in Nordic drama. Presented annually at Göteborg’s TV Drama Vision, it carries forward the legacy of its predecessor, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. This prestigious award of NOK 200,000 is financed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and given to the main writer(s) of a Nordic drama series that premiered during the previous year.

The Creative Courage Award, introduced in 2025, honours the producer(s) and the commissioner(s) of a series that exemplifies bold, innovative, and risk-taking approaches in Nordic drama series. This honorary award celebrates individuals and companies which embrace brave producing and commissioning, thus pioneering new directions in storytelling.

The winners of the Nordic Series Awards are selected from series submitted by Nordic streamers/ broadcasters. The winners will be announced during TV Drama Vision at the Göteborg Film Festival.

Eligibility criteria

  • The series must be primarily Nordic. The main production companies need to be based in and have their address in the Nordic region: Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, or Åland
  • Only the first seasons of a series will be considered
  • The series must have its premiere between January 1 and December 31, 2025

Submission guidelines

  • Each broadcaster/streamer may submit up to two drama series
  • When submitting two titles: Both may be entered for the Nordic Series Script Award, or one may be entered for the Nordic Series Script Award and one for the Creative Courage Award
  • When submitting a title to the Creative Courage Award, you need to include a short motivation of what makes the commissioning brave and the production pioneering
  • Individual production companies, creators, etc. are not eligible to submit series
