The Danish six-episode series The Excavation was released on Danish TV 2 Play last Sunday.

The Excavation combines a modern-day relationship drama with an archaeological murder mystery. Skilled archaeologist Ester has neglected her own career during her marriage to the brilliant professor Michael Toksvig. That all changes when she makes a discovery from the Viking Age - but will her marriage to Michael survive the fact that Ester's discovery is about to re-write the history of Denmark?
