The entire team at Nordisk Film & TV Fond wish you a very happy film year 2013 and look forward to more successful and fruitful collaborations across the Nordic region.

In 2012 the Fund gave out production support to 24 feature films, 21 documentaries and 10 TV dramas. Included in these high profile projects that we can look forward to seeing in Nordic cinemas are the latest feature films by Lars von Trier (Nymphomaniac), Dome Karukoski (Lion Heart), Pirjo Honkasalo (Concrete Night), Taru Mäkelä (August Fools), Ragnar Bragason (Metal Head), Bård Breien (Private Detective), Erik Poppe (A Thousand Times Goodnight), Mikkel Sandemose (Gåten Ragnarok), Søren Kragh-Jacobsen (The Hour of the Lynx), Christoffer Boe (Spies & Glistrup), Per Fly (Monica Z - A Lingonberry in a Cocktail), Daniel Alfredson (Echoes from the Dead), Lukas Moodysson (Vi är Bäst) and Felix Herngren (The Centenarian Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared).

Within TV drama the year had a good kick start with the Norwegian series The Half Brother (over a million viewers on NRK on January 6) and the Danish crime series Dicte (1.4 million viewers on TV2 Danmark last Monday (see story below).

Upcoming TV dramas supported by the Fund include The Legacy by Pernilla August (DR), Dag 3 by Øystein Karlsen (TV2 NO), Gentlemen and Gangsters by Michael Marcimain (SVT) and 1864 by Ole Bornedal (DR).

Other 2013 highlights include our VOD initiative ‘Scandi Sensations Cinema' launched in Cannes 2012 and run by the online film platform MUBI which will continue to showcase over 20 Nordic classics and recent titles all over the world throughout 2013.

Initiatives run by the Fund that will roll out this year include High Five Cross Media Content for Kids co-organised with cross-media specialist Power to the Pixel, Nordic Talents run in collaboration with the National Film School of Denmark and the prestigious Nordic Council Film Prize.

Here are some key dates to put in your calendar:
- March 11-13 - The Financing Forum for Kids Content, Malmö (seven High Five Kids projects will be presented)

- September 3, (tbc) - Announcement of the five films nominated for the Nordic Council Film Prize 2013

- September 11-13 - Nordic Talents, Copenhagen

- October 31st (tbc) - Announcement of the Nordic Council Film Prize winners at the Nordic Council Session, Oslo.

We are also pleased to announce that our website www.nordiskfilmogtvfond.com has averaged over 30,000 visits a month throughout 2012 and shortly we will present a refreshed look with social media links so that you can share news and information more easily.

Last but not least Hanne Palmquist (pictured) will stay as CEO for the coming two years with a strong team comprising Project Manager, Fiction Torleif Hauge, Documentary Consultant Karolina Lidin, Project Manager, Documentary Lise Løwholm, Project Coordinator Ann-Sophie W. Birkenes and writer Annika Pham and are pleased to welcome Cecilie Aspenes, Accounts Manager and Project Coordinator. The former student at Lillehammer University College who most recently worked in acquisitions and marketing for Scanbox Entertainment in Norway, is replacing Berit Brodtkorb who has retired after six great years at the Fund. We thank her for a fine effort and wish her all the best of luck!
