NENT Group’s streaming service completes its footprint in the Nordic region with Iceland where customers will have access to its content through DTC and third-party partnerships. 

Viaplay’s content consists of Viaplay Originals, films and series, kids’ content, and live sports. 

The Viaplay series and film package is priced at ISK 599 (€4) per month in Iceland.

All Viaplay Originals and kids’ content will be subtitles or dubbed and selected sports content will have Icelandic commentary. The majority of sports events such as Formula 1, WTA tennis, Major League Baseball, Danish Superliga, are currently postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak and will launch on Viaplay when available.

Viaplay Originals large Nordic drama slate comprises Those Who Kill, Love Me, Face to Face, Wisting, Box 21 and films & TV series on the Nordic streamer include Borg vs. McEnroe, The Purity of Vengeance, Easy Money, The Restaurant, Greyzone, Grey’s Anatomy among others.

Iceland is one of the world’s most connected countries with 75% of households having access to 1Gbit/s broadband speeds through fibre networks. The government 's goal is for 99% of homes and businesses to have access to at least 100Mbit/s speeds by 2022.
