According to TV2's official annual results, the group's profits from continuing operations reached DKK111 million in 2011, an increase of DKK68 million from 2010. Total pre-tax profits amounted to DKK158 million (DKK439 million in 2010). Advertising revenues rose by 8% to DKK1.429 million, subscription revenues by 7% to DKK 688 million and net revenues by 8% to DKK116 million. The broadcaster's commercial viewership grew by a mere 0.6% to 56% in 2011. The main channel's drop of 1.1% in commercial viewers was counterbalanced by TV2's niche channels' overall increase of 1.7%.
In a statement, Merete Eldrup, (pictured) TV2 CEO expressed her satisfaction over her company's 2011 improved financial and viewership figures across all channels. "Our profits are partly due to an impressive growth in turnover and a rational costs control, while strong programmes on all channels contributed to the growing commercial audience share".
TV2 Danmark is currently enjoying the cinema success of the WW2 drama Hvidsten Group which has become the biggest hit of 2012 in only two weeks, and the TV success of its series Rita, watched every Thursday since February 9 (until March 29) by an average 855,000 viewers, a level achieved last time with the first season of Lærkevej (Park Road).
