Karoliina Dwyer takes the helm of the Nordic sales company as CEO and Steven Bestwick is the new Head of Sales & Business Development.

Dwyer has worked earlier for The Yellow Affair as Head of Sales & Acquisitions and returns to the company after a few years spent in New York with Tribeca Film Festival and Kino Lorber Distribution.  She succeeds Miira Paasilinna who keeps an active role in the company as Chairman of the Board, while working as new Managing Director of Anagram Sweden.

Bestwick started his career with Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey’s Icon Entertainment International before joining The Works Film Group in 2011, representing award-winning titles such as Ken Loach’s  My Name is Joe and the documentaries The Cove, and Man On Wire.

The Yellow Affair’s new staff members will be based in London, as part of the Scandinavian sales outfit’s strategy to increase its ties with international filmmakers and financiers, across film and television.

The company owned by Visiorex Oy, Helsinki filmi, Mika Kaurismäki’s Marianna Films and Anagram Production will also continue to be involved in financing, executive production and packaging of high-end projects in the mid-range budget level.

“I am very pleased to join a company with well established links to production and finance, in order to drive content in both film and TV, but also such a willingness to adapt in order to remain successful in our increasingly challenging marketplace,” said Bestwick.

Karoliina Dwyer said she is ‘very excited’ at the prospect of growing the company across its strong and diverse slate of films and filmmakers.

Upcoming projects on The Yellow Affair’s slate include the Swedish feature drama Life as a Comedian by Rojda Sekersöz (Beyond Dreams) as well as the Finnish mini-series The Activists, produced by Helsinki-filmi for Yle.
